There are several reasons. First of all Avalon Trustee Company Ltd is exactly what our name suggests a company that acts as a trustee for its members.
All monies paid by members go directly to a separate Trust Fund from the company known as the Avalon Funeral Trust. The Custodian Trustee of the Trust is Capita IRG Trustees Ltd. Major banks hold members payments on behalf of the Custodian Trustee.
Unlike pension funds which are legally actuarially valued each 3 years the Avalon Funeral Trust is valued annually to ensure they are sufficient assets to ultimately meet the future payments of the Funeral Directors. This important role is held by Rowanmoor Group Plc, a wholly owned subsidiary to the Abbey.
